Making Rolling Damage more Realistic

Rolling Damage can easily be the downfall to realism in combat.  Whenever I run "fair" combat (rolling dice in front of players) it seems like i can get 5or more successes to hit, but only 1 for damage.  I am currently in the process of making ideas that work to make harder hits actually do more damage.

Firearms-  Automatic firearms do less damage then normal semi-autos in combat in the old system.  Here's how I work out the damage systems for it.
3RB-  +3 accuracy dice, +1 Difficulty to hit, -1 Difficulty to damage, shoots d10(round to nearest multiple of 3)+3 shots.
FA-  +5 accuracy dice, +2 Difficulty to hit, -2 Difficulty to damage, shoots d10+10 shots first round, then rate x 3 + 10 for every round that FA is sustained.

For Normal combat, I would adapt these charts:

#successes to hit Difficulty to damage difficulty to soak
1 7 5
2-3 6 5
4-5 6 6
6-7 5 6
8-9 5 7
10-14 4 7
15+ 4 8

Feel free to test and adapt these charts as they are only ment to help.
